When things don't go your way
I had made plenty of plans for December. And I waS going to enjoy every minute of it. Most of it has not been done. And that's because of the flue has taken almost all time. Sundays AB got fever - again - and she was complaining of ace in her ears. I called one of my friends who is a ear- and throat specialist and he gave us an appointment Monday morning. So far so good while it wasn't her ears that troubled her. It was her throat. She had got same streptokocker as I had and when he glimpsed into my throat he realized I still was suffering from those bacterias. Both of us have got pencilinn again.

While this isn't enough. My little one started with fever too... and on Saturday morning we are flying out to Sweden. I am praying every day that we will be ok then.

I tried my weight this morning and I am still on 66. Actually I am pretty satisfied though I didn't reach goal. From now on I will take a break and to enjoy Christmas. Though I have promised myself to be good in exercising during Christmas. I will go lot's of skiing and being plenty outside. If we will be well of course

I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

A proud mom
Yesterday evening was day D for our Lucia concert. I brought both girls with me and when we had final rehearsal AB refused to go off stage. She stood there will all the other small children and tried to follow those steps. The thing is children under age of 4 are not allowed to participate and AB is only 3. Anyway, the choir leader decided to give permission and I dressed AB up in a long white skirt and gave her an electric candle that she was suppose to hold in her hand. We decided she should sit in my knee until choir has arrived on stage and then she was allowed to enter too. While AB refused this too. She wanted to go with the others all from the beginning. She got OK from the choir leader.

Today I am a very proud mom!

And Knut was fantastic! His masterpiece of the O holy night was amazing. I got a picture of him and I will launch it here later.

Today we have terrible weather - again - and we are expecting windforces up to 50 m/s. All the schools are closed while kindergarden was open. Though I am planning to go home a little bit earlier today... then it is good to be able to work from home.

First yule lad has arrived
My youngest woke up very early like she knew something fun was up. I told her to go to the window and see if the yule lad had put something in the shoe she put in there last night. And yes, there was a gift! Even my oldest woke up without any trouble and both of them opened the gift. It was a bowl with a figure inside and when you shake it starts snowing. This is an icelandic christmas tradition about 13 yule lads who starts coming down from the mountain each day from the 12th to the 24th. Their mother is Gryla and she is cruel one and caught children if they are not nice. What about the shoe in the window? Story tells if a child is nice behaviour she or he will get a gift though if not nice the yule lad will give a potatoe instead.

One kg left! I guess my sickness gave it a rush though it is very nice!! Will I reach goal before Christmas?

Yesterday the children and I made some baking:

60 m/s windforce in Iceland last night
This night it was like living in a drycleaner. Windforces up to 60 m/s and it is amazing to hear it hasn't caused much damages. I heard on the news the police got nine reports of some windows broken and a car flew away.

Last night I went to final rehearsal for Lucia and I heard Knut Schöning - the tenor from Norway that will perform on the concert. Amazing to hear him and I would say he is the Norwegian "Peter Jöback" you know the famous Swedish tenor. He was good looking too - and of course totally puff ;) His boyfriend lives here in Iceland that's why we managed to get him to perform in our Lucia concert.

Tonight I have promised the girls we will do some baking :)

I'm back
Back and alive. While I don't know ever when I was this sick I have been past week. It all started with a great Christmas feast all dressed up in my new dress and high heals:) On my way to the feast I told B I was freezing my butts off and "if I will not get sick from this I will never be" At that moment I didn't know how true this was. Anyway, I had already some bad cold while in the night I woke up freezing like never before and my throat was so soar. In the morning I could hardly breather neither swollow. On the Sunday I went to the hospital. Streptococer in my throat and very high fever kept me in bed for a week.

Though this is forgotten now and I am trying to inhalate Christmas spririts. This morning I decorated at my office :) I have done some shopping though still much is left. I also need to bake some cakes. I think I will make Figures Though not tonight as I am in the lead for organizing Lucia. Each year we are celebrating swedish way of Lucia here in Iceland and the concert takes place on Thursday. Will be nice :)
